Forums, stories and…my house
The NAACP has two upcoming forums for the candidates of the Spotsylvania School Board and Board of Supervisors.
On Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Riverbend High School, the School Board candidates will descend on school grounds for a forum. On Thursday, the candidates for the Board of Supervisors, and there are many, will be at the school from 7 to 9 p.m.
They are the final forums of the year. I’ll be there.
The interviews I did with candidates for the past two weeks should show up on the Web sometime early next week. I am sure there will be a glitch or two, but the process should improve next time. I doubt we’ll have as many candidates for the next election. One thing I know I won’t do in the future is have all district candidates in the same room because one didn’t work out too well that way. But if I have 14 people running in five races, I have to pack them in.
In next week’s paper, stories on Spotsylvania races will start running. It starts with the Battlefield District and ends with the Lee Hill District.
The rest is up to you folks. Vote on Nov. 6.
And for anyone who has discussed this with me before, my house is under contract. Yes, it’s as close as ever to being sold. But, until I am at closing and I hand over the title, I’m pretending nothing happened. So, just keep your fingers crossed for me. I need to sell this thing and move on. Like the flag guy, Phil Stack, said I will be a “free bird!
