Preps Roundup: Boys basketball

Kyle Talley scored 17 points, Travis Mickens snared nine rebounds and dished out seven assists, and Terrell Robinson had eight rebounds as the Courtland boys basketball team earned a Battlefield District victory over Eastern View Saturday.

Mickens added 10 points as the Cougars came out strong in the third quarter to take control of the game.

Courtland (10–10, 7–5) travels to King George on Tuesday.

Lucas Brown and Tyrus Mason each scored 13 points to help the Wildcats to remain perfect in the Commonwealth District.

Chris Baird has a good game for the Bears, who struggled with the Wildcats’ 1–3–1 zone, committing over 30 turnovers in the game. Riverbend (11–10, 6–9) hosts Albemarle on Monday.
