Da’Shawn Harris scored 15 of his 22 points in the second half, going 5-for-6 at the line down the stretch, to lead Stafford to a 58–52 Commonwealth District win at Albemarle on Friday night.

Evan Greening added 20 for the Indians, making two late free throws to seal the win.

Harmon Hawkins led Albemarle with 16 points, and De Mallory added 14.

ESSEX 46, NORTHUMBERLAND 44

After a wild sequence in the final 10 seconds of the game, visiting Essex’s Alonzo Tompkins received a pass from Sterling Hammond and buried a shot at the buzzer to give the Trojans a Northern Neck District win.

In the closing seconds, Northumberland tied the score at 44–44 before Essex turned the ball over with a back-court violation. The Indians then turned the ball back over to the Trojans with 1.9 second left setting up Tompkins’ winning bucket on an inbounds play.

Essex, which has won three of its last four, visits Rappahannock on Tuesday.
