Kenya Holland earned most valuable player honors after posting 22 points to lead the Colonial Forge girls basketball team to a 65–42 victory over Brooke Point in the championship game of the Apple Federal Credit Union Winter Classic Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles built a commanding first-half lead behind Holland, Zhane Barnes (11 points) and Nichole Collins (9) and got some help from 14 Brooke Point turnovers.
Valerie Poole scored 21 points and Rachel Payne pulled down nine rebounds to help Brooke Point narrow the margin in the final quarter.
Holland, Poole, Collins, Colonial Forge’s Jahla Osborne and Fredericksburg Christian’s Brianna Clarkson made the all-tournament team.
Brooke Point (4–7, 2–5) travels to Albemarle on Friday, than hosts Martinsburg on Saturday.

Brianne Comden posted her second double-double in two days, but it wasn’t enough as the Panthers fell to the Raiders in the championship game of the “B” bracket of the Ronald Curry/Boo Williams Christmas Classic.
Comden recorded 15 points, 15 rebounds and six assists, but was forced to sit out all of the second and third quarters with four fouls.
Patrice Hounshell had 14 points and four steals for Massaponax (9–4, 6–1), which travels to Riverbend Friday.

Point guard Marnie Streeter helped Fredericksburg Christian bounce back from a poor opening quarter by working the ball to its shooters, particularly Burton.
