Prep Girls Basketball Roundup: Hornets escape with 2OT victory

ORANGE 60, STAFFORD 57 (2OT)

Kendall Parker poured in 30 points for visiting Stafford, but Orange won a back-and-forth Commonwealth District game, 60–57, in double overtime on Friday night.

Markiana Smith had 20 and Kiani Hudgens added 19 for the Hornets, who play in the Fluvanna/Orange tournament Dec. 27–28.

The Indians are off until after the holiday break.

Chelsea Keyser scored 13 points and helped lead a Mountain View charge that included four 3-pointers in the first half to defeat Brooke Point in Commonwealth District play.

Bianca Dittman added nine points for the Wildcats.

Valerie Poole had 13 points and Rachel Payne added nine rebounds for the Black–Hawks, who host John Paul the Great in the Apple Federal Credit Union Christmas Classic on Thursday.

Kenya Holland added 15 points for the Eagles, who will participate in Apple Federal Credit Union Christmas Classic starting Dec. 27.

Brianne Comden recorded a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Panthers, who take on Lakeland on Thursday at the Ronald Curry Christmas Classic in Virginia Beach.
