Will Howard scored 19 points to lead Caroline to a 73–66 Battlefield District boys basketball win over James Monroe on Thursday.
The game was bumped up a day from its originally scheduled time.
Deion Scott added 17 points and Daquan Pollard 14 for the Cavaliers, who next travel to Lee–Davis on Dec. 28.
Antonio Edwards had 11 rebounds, and Jarmal Bevels totaled seven assists and five blocks for the Yellow Jackets, who play in the Colonial Forge Tournament beginning Dec. 28.
