UMW Women’s Basketball: Eagles top Wilkes in Florida tournament

Aby Diop scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the University of Mary Washington women’s basketball team to a 52–34 victory over Wilkes University on Tuesday as part of the Cruzin Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Diop went 4 for 8 from the floor and 6 for 7 from the free throw line in 26 minutes. Aubrey Howland and Caitie Geohegan each had 10 rebounds to lead UMW, which held a 54–44 advantage on the boards in the game and forced 18 Wilkes turnovers.
The Eagles (7–3) face Hartwick College Wednesday.
