GIRLS RUNNER OF THE YEAR

MEGAN REBHOLZ

Colonial Forge junior

Rebholz had the best showing of all area runners with her 25th-place showing at the Group AAA championships. She was the Commonwealth District runner-up and was fourth in the Northwest Region.

BOYS RUNNER OF THE YEAR

IAN MacLEOD

Stafford senior

In the Commonwealth District and Northwest Region meets MacLeod was the area’s best runner—he was second and third in those races, respectively. He also placed 21st at the Group AAA championships.

FIRST TEAM

GIRLS

JORDAN ANGERS

Mountain View sophomore

Angers ran to a fourth-place finish at the Commonwealth District meet and was seventh in the Northwest Region.

HALEY ARMENTROUT

King George senior

The Battlefield District’s individual champion also placed 10th at the Region I championships and 44th in Group AA.

HANNAH LOWERY

Stafford senior

Lowery was the top local finisher by placing third at the Northwest Region championships. She was third in the Commonwealth.

LILLY MOORE

Colonial Forge senior

Moore finished 15th at the Northwest Region championships, following up her sixth-place finish in the Commonwealth District.

VICTORIA PARENT

Courtland senior

Parent led local runners in the Region I (third) and Group AA (13th) championships. She was second in the Battlefield meet.

ALLISON TAYLOR

Colonial Forge sophomore

Taylor was fifth at the Commonwealth District race and placed 13th for Colonial Forge in the Northwest Region meet.

BOYS

JOEY ABBATIELLO

Stafford junior

Abbatiello had the best showing of all local racers at the Group AAA championships, where he placed ninth.

TED BAILEY

Spotsylvania junior

Bailey won the Battlefield District’s individual title. He was 11th at the Region I meet and qualified for the Group AA state race.

NEIL SCHUBEL

Chancellor freshman

Schubel finished second in the district and was the best local finisher in Region I (ninth) and in Group AA (42nd).

BEN SORENSON

Mountain View senior

Sorenson ran to a fifth-place finish in the Northwest Region meet after placing third in the Commonwealth District.

ROBERT WALKER

Brooke Point junior

Walker finished in the top 10 at both the district (sixth) and region (eighth) championships.

WILL YOUNG

Riverbend senior

After finishing eighth in the Commonwealth District, Young ran to an 11th-place finish at the Northwest Region race.

Courtland

In his second year with the Cougars, Mersiowsky helped Courtland to its first boys district cross country title since 1994. Courtland’s boys were also third in Region I.
