Prep Girls Basketball: Beverly leads Bears to victory

RIVERBEND 66, JAMES MONROE 46

Candice Beverly had a solid all-around night with 20 points, six rebounds, four steals and three blocks for Riverbend in a 66–46 nondistrict girls basketball win over visiting James Monroe on Friday night.

Ariyanna Young grabbed eight rebounds and Lainey Harmon added six assists for the Bears, who visit Stafford on Tuesday.

Visiting Massaponax hung close for a half, but Courtland pulled away in the second half for a nondistrict win.

Janae McNeal and Jessica Hairston scored 20 and 18 points, respectively, for the Courage, who host Caroline on Tuesday.
