Prep Boys Basketball: Seacrist helps Massaponax top Cougars

MASSAPONAX 56, COURTLAND 51

Logan Seacrist scored a game-high 19 points as visiting Massaponax took home a 56–51 non-district boys basketball win over Courtland on Friday night.

Aaron McFarland finished with 18 points and provided solid play at point guard in the fourth quarter to help seal the win for the Panthers, who visit North Stafford on Tuesday.

Usie Miller scored 15 points and had eight rebounds as the Wolverines blew out Albemarle in its season opener.

Lyndon White, Evan Skjellaug and Justin Tuckson added 14, 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Tuckson contributed five assists, and Skjellaug grabbed four steals.

The Black-Hawks committed 34 turnovers against one of West Virginia’s top teams, negating a strong shooting performance.

Visiting Martinsburg placed five scorers in double figures, led by Elisha Freeman’s 16 points.

Aaron Sanders had eight points and nine rebounds for Brooke Point (0–3), which shot 62 percent from the field and 71 percent (5 for 7) from 3-point range. The Black-Hawks will face Norview Saturday at Meadowbrook High School in Richmond.
