Prep Girls Basketball: Colonial Beach girls prevail

COLONIAL BEACH 44, LIBERTY 40

Colonial Beach’s girls basketball team rallied from a late three-point deficit and picked up a 44–40 nondistrict win at Liberty on Tuesday.

Caneishia Fulcher had 12 points and Billie Gould made eight steals for Colonial Beach, which plays at King George on Thursday.

BROOKE POINT 47, ORANGE 40

Valerie Poole had 21 points to help Brooke Point to a Commonwealth District road victory.

Rachael Payne had nine rebounds and seven steals for the Black–Hawks, who play at Martinsburg (W.Va.) on Friday.

Rebecca Harvey led Orange with 10 points.

Brianne Comden scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and Victoria Washington hit two key field goals in the fourth quarter as the Panthers beat the Patriots in Commonwealth District play.

K.K. Barbour had 21 points and 11 rebounds for Albemarle.

Patrice Hounshell had seven assists and four steals for Massaponax (3–1, 3–0), which plays Mountain View on Thursday.

Visiting Colonial Forge built a 30–13 halftime lead en route to a Commonwealth District win.

Candice Beverly had 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists for the Bears. Carmen Beverly added six rebound and two steals, and Lainey Harmon provided four assists.

Riverbend visits James Monroe today.
