UMW Basketball: Eagle men fall to Shenandoah

Despite 17 points from junior guard Bradley Riester, the University of Mary Washington men’s basketball team squandered a 16-point halftime lead and lost to Shenandoah 70–63 Wednesday in Rocky Mount, N.C.
Sophomore Jamie Richardson added 15 points for the Eagles (0–2), who face Maryland Bible Saturday in Rocky Mount.
Courtland High School graduate Xavier Alston had eight points and 12 rebounds for Shenadoah (2–2).
Mary Washington (0–2): John Yoxthimer 6, Lamont Fields 8, Bradley Riester 17, Jamie RIchardson 15, Taylor Johnson 8, Dylan Farinet 2, Conrad Etchi 2, Jack Hamilton 2, Gaither Mason 0, Marcellus Holley 3. Totals: 24 8–11 63.
Shenandoah (2–2): Shaquille Rodney 2, Kevin Lecsaint 4, Sharif Almulla 10, Bryce Mitchell 13, Jimi Starks 6, Jared Carithers 17, Avery Green 9, Corey Bedford 1, Dante Serale 0, Daron Bogler 0, Xavier Alston 8, Corey Levenberry 0. Totals: 23 20–28 70.
