UMW Women’s Basketball: Eagles defeat Yellow-Jackets

Sam Partonen scored 19 points to lead the University of Mary Washington women’s basketball team to a 70–63 win at Randolph–Macon College on Saturday night. The Eagles (2–0) host Shenandoah on Tuesday

The Eagles will host Shenandoah University on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the home opener.

Randolph–Macon (0–1): Katie Anderson 25, Hannah Livermon 12, Nicole Freeman 9, Lindsey Sharman 3, Khajee Hester 1, Caroline Young 5, Kellie Cortina 3, Madison Dulaney 3, Lauren Vugtveen 2. Totals: 21–52, 16–27, 63.

Mary Washington (1–0): Sam Partonen 19, Aby Diop 12, Aubrey Howland 4, Carol Dye 18, Brieneke Matthes 5, Catie Geoghegan 2, Amanda Witmer 4, Caitlin Ciniero 3. Erin Drumheller 2, Totals: 26–54, 17–21, 70.
