Nov. 18: Elks Soccer Shoot, 2–4 p.m. at Fredericksburg Field House. Penalty kick-style competition free and open to all area youth age 8–14. Registration begins at 1:30. Information: Ron Hicks, 540/371-2505.

Nov. 22: YMCA 5K Turkey Trot, 9 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. Cost: $27 for 5K ($30 race day), $13 for youth 1-mile run ($15 on race day). Family discounts available. Register online at racetimingunlimited.org.

Dec. 9: VA Runner Blue & Gray Half-Marathon, 7:30 a.m. at VA Runner in Central Park. Cost: $39 ($50 after Nov. 24) for half-marathon, $20 for 5k ($25 after Nov. 24), Register at racetimingunlimited.org.

Dec. 31: Village 5K run, 3 p.m. at Spotsylvania Courthouse Village Pavilion. Cost: $15 ($20 after Dec. 12). Register at racetimingunlimited.org.
