Prep Football: Kaopua is district’s top player on offense
JM’S SCOTT, CHANCELLOR’S HARPER SHARE HONOR FOR TOP DEFENDER

Senior running back Dominic Kaopua, who helped Chancellor earn a share of the Battlefield District football title, was named offensive player of the year by the district’s coaches.
Kaopua rushed for 1,383 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Chargers, who host Courtland on Friday in the Region I, Division 4 playoffs.
James Monroe linebacker Tony Scott and Chancellor lineman Sammie Harper shared defensive player of the year honors after making 82 tackles apiece.
King George’s Corey Henderson and Jordi Estes and JM’s She’Mar Ellis each made the first team on both offense and defense.
Chancellor’s Bob Oliver (Division 4) and JM’s Rich Serbay (Division 3) were named coaches of the year after sharing the district title.
