Meghan Norair tallied three goals and Carolyn Topps provided two assists to help Fredericksburg Academy get a 6–0 win over Virginia Episcopal in the VISAA Division II state quarterfinals on Tuesday.
Catherine Estes, Sara Eadie and Alegra Massey–Elim also scored for the Falcons (15–1), who take on Carlisle School in the semifinals at 3 p.m. on Friday at the National Training Center in Virginia Beach.
VOLLEYBALL
NEW KENT 3, SPOTSYLVANIA 0
Katie Graham had 12 digs and six kills, and Caitlin Chmielewski totaled 12 assists, seven digs and three kills for visiting Spotsylvania, but New Kent earned the 25–16, 25–15, 25–22 Region I quarterfinal win.
Other leaders for the Knights (12–10) were Calli Stott with nine digs, three aces and two kills; Andi Carroll with 13 digs; and Courtney Chmielewski with four kills.

FREDERICKSBURG CHRISTIAN 1
Ashlee Middleton had 29 assists to lead Fredericksburg Christian, but visiting Peninsula Catholic (16–11) took home a 19–25, 25–17, 25–17, 25–18 win in the VISAA Division II state quarterfinals.
Gabby Vess registered 15 kills and Rachel Evans collected 12 digs for the Eagles, who finished their season with a 14–10 record.

FREDERICKSBURG ACADEMY 5, COVENANT 1
Homestanding Fredericksburg Academy didn’t need to play any doubles matches en route to a win in the VISAA Division II state quarterfinals. The Falcons (13–2) will host a semifinal on Friday.
