High schools: Indians win fifth straight cheer title

Stafford won its fifth straight Commonwealth District competitive cheer championship in the Indians’ gym last week.
Stafford scored 255 points to beat runner-up Mountain View (236.5). Colonial Forge finished third (228) in the competition and North Stafford fourth (227).
All four schools advanced to this Saturday’s Northwest Region championships, hosted by William Fleming in Roanoke.
Stafford has won every Commonwealth District championship since the 2008 season.
