Prep Roundup: Boys soccer, field hockey, volleyball

David Schools notched three goals, including two in overtime, to give the Fredericksburg Christian boys soccer team a 3–1 Delaney Athletic Conference tournament semifinal win over visiting Highland on Friday.

Andrew Brown, Alex Garner and Chris Hughes provided the assists, while the defense was led by Alex Williams for the Eagles, who visit Seton on Tuesday for the DAC championship.

FIELD HOCKEY

FREDERICKSBURG ACADEMY 4, HIGHLAND 0

Catherine Estes and Meghan Norair each registered a goal and an assist to led visiting Fredericksburg Academy to a Delaney Athletic Conference win.

Greer Stewart and Sara Eadie also scored for the Falcons (13–1, 8–0), who will be the DAC tournament’s top seed and have a bye into next Thursday’s semifinals.

FCS 2, ST. MARGARET’S 1

Goals from Celestia Lorei and Madeline Santschi helped visiting Fredericksburg Christian end its regular season with a win.

Anna Marshall and Santschi had assists for the Eagles, who visit Highland in the Delaney Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinals Tuesday.

VOLLEYBALL

SETON 3, FREDERICKSBURG CHRISTIAN 2

The Eagles fell to Seton School in five games. Game scores were 25–23, 14–25, 27–25, 15–25, 15–17.

For Fredericksburg Christian, Gabby Vess had 22 kills, Mary Katherine Pressley tallied 10 kills, Brittany Burton had eight kills and seven blocks and Ashley Middleton recorded 48 assists.

Fredericksburg Christian (13–8) will travel to Highland on Tuesday, with the winner claiming the DAC regular-season championship.
