Prep Volleyball: Indians get four-game win over Black–Hawks

STAFFORD 3, BROOKE POINT 1
Jessica Gatanis had 30 assists to help the Stafford volleyball team upset visiting Brooke Point 25–15, 25–23, 20–25, 26–24 in a Commonwealth District match Tuesday night that also served as the Indians’ “Dig Pink” night.
Haley Parish totaled 12 digs and Dana Lee four aces for the Indians (6–10, 2–10), who visit Albemarle on Thursday.
Leaders for the Black–Hawks (12–4, 8–4) were Alyssa Andreno with nine kills, five blocks, three digs and two ace; Krista Kennedy with seven digs, six kills and three blocks; and Emily Smith with 12 digs.
Brooke Point hosts North Stafford on Thursday.
MASSAPONAX 3, ORANGE 0
Colleen Beaver had 14 kills and four blocks, and Jessica Lee totaled six kills and six aces for Massaponax in a 25–14, 25–14, 25–16 Commonwealth District home win.
Emily Kilpatrick added six kills and two blocks, and Mattie Lewter provided five kills and four aces for the Panthers (11–9, 6–7), who visit Colonial Forge on Tuesday.
CHANCELLOR 3, CULPEPER 0
Shea Sullivan had 16 kills and six aces to lead visiting Chancellor to a 25–11, 25–19, 25–15 Battlefield District win.
Kassie Moeller added 14 digs and Sydney Jackson six kills for the Chargers (7–10, 6–2), who visit Caroline on Thursday.
RIVERBEND 3, NORTH STAFFORD 2
Down two game, visiting Riverbend rallied for the 23–25, 20–25, 25–20, 25–17, 15–12 Commonwealth District victory led by Miranda Mitchell with 10 kills and 11 digs, and Shadae Strother with 10 kills and two blocks.
Brett Pettus added nine kills and two digs, Danielle Deiters 26 assists and seven kills, Rebecca Statler 13 digs and six kills and Ana Torres six kills and two digs for the Bears (11–4, 8–4)
For the Wolverines, Alex Sosik had 14 kills, 10 digs and four aces; Tiffany Barrett notched 13 kills; Christine Jackson recorded 14 blocks; and Abby Rosa nine blocks.
On Thursday, North Stafford travels to Brooke Point and Riverbend visits Mountain View.
CAROLINE 3, JAMES MONROE 0
Brandi Jackson had seven kills an three aces, and Tanisha Washington contributed nine kills and five digs for visiting Caroline in a 25–19, 28–26, 25–11 Battlefield District win.
Brooke Brooks added 24 digs, and India Holmes supplied 12 assists and seven digs for the Cavaliers (4–8, 2–6), who host Chancellor on Thursday.
EASTERN VIEW 3, KING GEORGE 0
Amber Smith had five kills and five blocks for homestanding King George, but Eastern View took home a 25–18, 25–18, 25–16 Battlefield District win.
Other leaders for the Foxes (6–8, 2–6) included Shativa Harvey with four kills and five blocks, Lea Howard with five blocks and 13 assists, and Madi Parker with two aces and six digs.
King George travels to Culpeper on Thursday.
COLLEGIATE 3, FREDERICKSBURG CHRISTIAN 2
Ashlee Middleton doled out 37 assists for visiting Fredericksburg Christian, but Collegiate was able to rally for a 19–25, 19–25, 25–22, 25–22, 15–7 win.
Rachel Evans added 18 digs and Mary Katherine Pressley 11 kills for the Eagles (9–7), who entertain Highland on Thursday.
WASHINGTON & LEE 3, COLONIAL BEACH 0
The Drifters dropped a Northern Neck contest with the Eagles in straight games, 25–22, 25–16, 25–21.
Rachael Allison paced Colonial Beach with three aces, three kills and seven assists while McKenzie Conway contributed three kills and five assists.
Colonial Beach (0–14, 0–5) travels to Lancaster Thursday.
