Prep Volleyball: Wolverines get five-set victory

Christine Jackson had eight blocks and eight digs to help North Stafford get a tightly contested 24–26, 25–22, 12–25, 28–26, 15–11 Commonwealth District volleyball win at Massaponax on Thursday night.
Amber Wood added 16 assists and Tiffany Barrett 11 kills for the Wolverines (10–6, 7–6), who host Riverbend on Tuesday.
Leaders for the Panthers (9–9, 5–7) were Rachel Jankovits with 17 kills and 18 digs, Sabrina Torres with 12 kills, Emily Kilpatrick with eight kills and 10 digs, and Ashley Satterwhite with 24 assists and 12 digs.
Massaponax hosts Orange on Tuesday.
RIVERBEND 3, STAFFORD 1
Danielle Deiters had 18 assists and five kills, and Rebecca Statler totaled 17 digs, three aces and three kills for visiting Riverbend in a 25–12, 25–17, 19–25, 25–20 Commonwealth District win.
Shadae Strother had six blocks and five kills, Brett Pettus seven kills and Miranda Mitchell eight digs, six kills and three blocks for the Bears (10–4, 7–4).
Kristen Weadon had a strong night serving for the Indians (5–10, 1–10), finishing with two aces, while Jen Quintero provided 11 digs and seven kills, and Jessie Gatanis supplied 28 assists.
On Tuesday, Stafford hosts its Dig Pink night against Brooke Point, while Riverbend visits North Stafford.
COLONIAL FORGE 3, BROOKE POINT 0
Kayla Ostendorf had five kills and 11 digs to pace the visiting Eagles to the 25–17, 25–13, 25–14 Commonwealth District win over the Black–Hawks.
Hope Kelley recorded 12 kills, Pressley Maghan had 12 assists, Brooke Sanders notched seven aces and Leandra Tranquill had three blocks for Colonial Forge (15–7, 11–1).
Libero Lindsey Harrison was solid on defense for the Brooke Point (12–3, 8–3), while Krista Kennedy had a strong game all-around.
The Black–Hawks travel to Stafford on Tuesday, while the Eagles host Orange next Thursday.
SPOTSYLVANIA 3, CAROLINE 1
Calli Stott had six kills and five digs and Makayla Baker came off the bench to provide solid serves in the final game as the visiting Knights topped the Cavaliers 25–14, 25–21, 20–25, 25–20 in Battlefield District play.
Courtney Chmielewski had eight kills, two blocks and five aces, while Britney Kendrick chipped in four kills and two assists for Spotsylvania (6–6, 6–1), which hosts district unbeaten Courtland on Tuesday.
Leaders for the Cavaliers (3–8, 1–6) were Deja Anderson with 11 digs, five aces and three kills; Ayana Clayton with eight assists, four kills, four digs and three aces; Tanisha Washington with seven digs, six blocks, three aces and three digs; and Brooke Brooks with 14 digs.
Caroline visits James Monroe on Tuesday.
FCS 3, SETON 0
Mary Kathryn Pressley had nine kills and Ashlee Middleton doled out 19 assists for Fredericksburg Christian in a 25–21, 25–19, 25–14 Delaney Athletic Conference home win.
Marnie Streeter added seven kills and Beth Bjornsen six aces for the Eagles (9–6, 2–0), who visit Collegiate on Tuesday.
COURTLAND 3, CULPEPER 0
Bianca Rumbaugh had 18 assists and Anna Gallup totaled seven kills and seven aces for homestanding Courtland in a 25–13, 25–12, 25–15 Battlefield District win.
Josie Till chipped in seven kills for the Cougars (11–5, 7–0), who visit Spotsylvania on Tuesday.
CHANCELLOR 3, KING GEORGE 0
Emily Green had 15 assists to lead Chancellor to a 25–19, 25–19, 25–19 Battlefield District home win. The Chargers (6–10, 5–2) visit Culpeper on Tuesday.
