Prep Volleyball: Black–Hawks outlast Massaponax for win

EAGLES, WOLVERINES EARN COMMONWEALTH DISTRICT VICTORIES

BROOKE POINT 3, MASSAPONAX 2

Cori Jacobsen had 10 digs, six kills, five blocks and four aces to help Brooke Point to a 25–22, 17–25, 25–17, 18–25, 15–9 Commonwealth District volleyball win over Massaponax on Tuesday night.

Lindsay Harrison chipped in with 20 digs for the host Black–Hawks (11–1, 7–1). Desiree Claxton had 14 kills and 10 digs, Summer Rivera 10 digs and five kills, and Jasmine Jones 10 kills and nine blocks.

Rachel Jankovits had 16 kills and 12 digs, while Emilee Hill added 13 hills and Shannon Stefaniga 23 digs for the Panthers (7–7 4–5).

On Thursday, Brooke Point visits Orange and Massaponax entertains Albemarle.

COLONIAL FORGE 3, MOUNTAIN VIEW 1

Hope Kelley had 21 kills and Brooke Sanders doled out 26 assists for Colonial Forge in a 25–10, 21–25, 25–13, 25–18 Commonwealth District home win.

Leandra Tranquill added seven kills and four blocks, and Jenna Ulizio provided 16 digs and four aces for the Eagles (12–7, 8–1), who visit Riverbend tonight.

NORTH STAFFORD 3, STAFFORD 1

Abby Rosa had nine aces and six blocks in the Wolverines’ 25–21, 25–16, 18–25, 25–9 Commonwealth District victory.

Tiffany Barrett added eight kills and Capri Clark totaled five blocks for North Stafford (6–6, 3–6), which hosts Mountain View on Thursday.

Alex Thompson had 12 digs, Jennifer Quintero seven kills and Haley Parish six kills for Stafford (5–8, 1–8), which visits Colonial Forge on Tuesday.

CHANCELLOR 3, EASTERN VIEW 0

Shea Sullivan totaled 18 kills and four assists to lead Chancellor to a 25–21, 25–16, 25–19 Battlefield District win.

Riley Pates had six aces and Cassie Moeller had 15 assists for the Chargers (4–9), who visit James Monroe on Thursday.

COURTLAND 3, JAMES MONROE 0

Bianca Rumbaugh had eight aces and 16 assists to lift Courtland over James Monroe, 25–3, 25–4, 25–9, in Battlefield District action.

McKay Richardson had nine aces and Josie Till added seven kills for the Cougars (8–4, 4–0), who host King George on Thursday.

KING GEORGE 3, CAROLINE 1

Amber Smith registered 11 blocks and nine kills for King George in a 22–25, 25–13, 25–14, 25–15 Battlefield District home win.

Shativa Harvey added nine kills and four blocks, Monica Brandts four aces and setter Lea Howard 22 assists for the Foxes.

SPOTSYLVANIA 3, CULPEPER 1

Calli Stott recorded 12 kills, 13 digs and six aces to lead Spotsylvania over Culpeper, 24–26, 25–11, 25–18, 25–11 in Battlefield District play.

Britney Kendrick had 11 kills and Katie Graham added nine kills and 16 digs for the Knights.

Caitlin Chmielewski had 35 assists and 11 digs for Spotsylvania (3–6, 3–1), which visits Eastern View on Thursday.

LANCASTER 3, COLONIAL BEACH 0

Kora Herrod had three aces and eight points for Colonial Beach in its 19–25, 11–25, 16–25 Northern Neck District loss.

The Drifters (0–10, 0–1) visit Northumberland on Thursday.

ST. CATHERINE’S 3,

FREDERICKSBURG CHRISTIAN 0

Gabby Vess had 14 kills for visiting Fredericksburg Christian, but St. Catherine’s was able to get a 25–16, 25–14, 40–38 win.

Marnie Streeter added seven kills for the Eagles, who take part in the Flint Hill Tournament on Saturday.
