UMW Roundup: Field hockey, women’s soccer

Amy Abernathy, Haley Kane and Jenna Steele each scored two goals to pace the ninth-ranked University of Mary Washington field hockey team to an 8–1 victory over host Washington & Lee Tuesday.

Steele, Florence George, Lisa Charney each recorded assists, and Claire Gianelle had two saves in goal.

The Eagles (7–0) will host York College in a Capital Athletic Conference game Saturday at 1 p.m.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

The Eagles game against host Hood College was postponed Tuesday due to bad weather. No makeup date has been announced.
