VOLLEYBALL

BROOKE POINT 3, NORTH STAFFORD 2

Behind Jasmine Jones’ 11 digs, 16 kills and 11 blocks, Brooke Point came out on top at the end of a back-and-forth Commonwealth District volleyball match to escape with a 22–25, 25–17, 23–25, 25–20, 17–15 win at North Stafford.

Cori Jacobsen had 11 digs, four aces and one block, Summer Rivera had 10 digs, six kills, three aces and one block, and Desiree Claxton added 21 digs and 13 kills for the Black–Hawks (6–1, 4–1).

Alexandra Sosik had 19 kills and four aces, and Abby Rosa provided 16 digs and seven blocks for North Stafford (4–4, 2–4). Tiffany Barrett added 15 kills and 10 digs, and Ebonie Hicks 21 assists and five blocks.

On Thursday the Wolverines visit Gar–Field, while Brooke Point hosts Mountain View.

COLONIAL FORGE 3, ORANGE 0

Nori Thomas recorded 10 kills and four blocks to lead Colonial Forge to a 25–19, 25–11, 25–16 Commonwealth District win.

Jenna Ulizio had four aces and 12 digs, Hope Kelley had five kills and Brooke Sanders had 18 assists for the Eagles (9–6, 5–0), who visit Massaponax on Thursday.

CHANCELLOR 3, KING GEORGE 0

Shea Sullivan recorded 17 kills to lead Chancellor to a 25–14, 25–18, 25–21 Battlefield District win.

Kassie Moeller had seven kills and two assists and Shawna Morris added seven kills for the Chargers (2–8), who host Culpeper on Thursday.

WEST POINT 3, COLONIAL BEACH 0

Rachael Allison had seven kills and three aces to lead Colonial Beach, but visiting West Point got a 25–22, 25–22, 25–14 nondistrict win.

The Drifters (0–6) host King George on Thursday.

COURTLAND 3, CULPEPER 2

Emily Jordan, Anna Gallup and Josie Till combined for 48 kills to lead Courtland to a 19–25, 25–14, 24–26, 25–10, 15–5 Battlefield District win.

Bianca Rumbaugh tallied 43 assists and McKay Richardson had 13 digs for the Cougars (5–3, 1–0), who host Spotsylvania on Thursday.

SPOTSYLVANIA 3, CAROLINE 0

Caitlin Chmielewski had 13 assists, six digs and three kills, and Katie Graham added nine digs and five kills for Spotsylvania in a 25–14, 25–20, 25–23 Battlefield District home win.

Other leaders for the Knights (1–4, 1–0) were Calli Stott with six kills and five digs, Britney Kendrick with five kills, and Courtney Chmielewski with six aces, two kills and two blocks.

Spotsylvania visits Courtland on Thursday.

FIELD HOCKEY

STAFFORD 9, ALBEMARLE 0

Katie Deuell and Audrey Braxton scored three goals apiece to lead Stafford to a Commonwealth District win.

Lindsey Lysher had one goal and three assists, Elizabeth Brownell had a goal and two assists, and Cori Hailey had one goal for the Indians (3–2), who host Orange on Thursday.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 6, RIVERBEND 0

Beth Barnes scored two goals to lead Mountain View in its Commonwealth District win.

Emily Johnson, Caity Maffia, Morgan Lowry and Olivia Hubert each scored one goal for the Wildcats.

The Bears (2–3), visit Albemarle on Thursday, while Mountain View (6–0) travels to Brooke Point.

FREDERICKSBURG ACADEMY 3, FOXCROFT 0

Meghan Norair, Greer Stewart and Kirstie Harry each scored to help Fredericksburg Academy open its Delaney Athletic Conference schedule with a win.

Allegra Massey Elim had all three assists, while Catherine Estes and Meredith Kohls led the defense for the Falcons, who entertain defending VISAA Division I state champion St. Catherine’s on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

BROOKE POINT 2, NORTH STAFFORD 1

Liz Washington scored twice and Kate Kennedy had an assist in visiting Brooke Point’s Commonwealth District win.

Amanda Turner scored for North Stafford. The Black–Hawks (5–1, 5–1) host Mountain View on Thursday.

BOYS SOCCER

FREDERICKSBURG ACADEMY 1, WAKEFIELD 0

Michael Covington scored the lone goal in Fredericksburg Academy’s 1–0 Delaney Athletic Conference boys soccer win at Wakefield School on Tuesday.

Sweeper A.J. Topps and goalie Brandon Atkins (nine saves) led the way to the shutout for the visiting Falcons (1–0), who travel to John Paul the Great on Friday.

FAITH BAPTIST 3, LEESBURG 0

Ash Lewis had two goals and one assist, and goalie Ben Newman earned his second straight shutout behind solid defense in homestanding Faith Baptist’s win.

Grant LeFort also scored, while Zac Whiting and Andres Sorias provided assists for the Conquerors (2–2), who visit Evangel on Thursday.

GOLF

TRI-MATCH AT FAWN LAKE

Michael Mead shot a three-under-par 33 to lead the Riverbend golf team to a Commonwealth District win over Colonial Forge and North Stafford at Fawn Lake on Tuesday.

The Bears finished with a score of 141—setting a new school record—to finish ahead of the Eagles (180) and Wolverines (182).

    Riverbend (141): Michael Mead 33, Devon Oeters 34, Andrew Mueller 36, Adel Hasan, Megan Frederick, 38.

    Colonial Forge (180): Sawyer Chaffin, Keeton 44, Rob Loving 41, Stuart Butters 51.

    North Stafford (182): Ian Chamberlin 39, Tyler Byrd 41, Williams 49, Edwards 53.

LOUISA 160, ORANGE 175

Jo Azurin carded a two-under-par 35 to win individual medalist honors for Louisa and lead the Lions to a Jefferson District win at Tanyard Country Club.

Jared McGhee had a 36 to lead Orange (1–15–1, 1–7).
