North Stafford graduate John Maine took the loss in Scranton–Wilkes–Barre’s 7–4 loss to Pawtucket Wednesday night in the opener of their best-of-five International League playoff series. Maine, who had an 8–5 record and a 4.97 ERA during the regular-season, allowed five earned runs in 4 innings, striking out six.
Colonial Forge grad Jarrett Parker went 3 for 8 as San Jose lost its best-of-three Class-A California League playoff series to Modesto, 2–1. Parker hit .247 in the regular season with 15 home runs, 67 RBIs and 28 steals.
Mountain View grad Kyle Haynes earned a victory in Class-A State College (Pa.)’s season finale to finish with a 3–2 record, a 4.05 ERA and eight saves in 21 appearances.
