UMW Roundup: Eagles roll over Jackets

MEN’S SOCCER
Patrick Kelly scored two goals and Tommy Sangbouasy added a goal and an assist to spark the University of Mary Washington men’s soccer team to a 3–0 victory over Randolph–Macon College on Wednesday at the Battleground.
Mary Washington (3–0) will return to action on Saturday at 7 p.m. when it visits 17th-ranked Messiah College.
VOLLEYBALL
Kaitlynn Wickersham scored 13 kills and senior Karissa Herrick added 11 to lead the Eagles to a 3–0 victory over Bridgewater College on Wednesday night in the Anderson Center to improve to 2–0 on the year. Set scores were 25–23, 25–19, 25–20.
Wickersham added a team-high 10 digs, while Herrick scored 10 kills in 18 attempts and added a solo block. Kayla Crawford had seven kills and six digs for UMW, while senior Laura Gomez scored seven kills and had a team-high four solo blocks.
The Eagles will face Ursinus College at 10:30 a.m. at the Syevenson University Invitational on Saturday.
