Prep Volleyball: Jankovits helps Panthers get win

Rachel Jankovits had a solid all-around night with 14 kills, 14 digs and six aces to lead Massaponax in a 22–25, 25–22, 25–18, 25–23 Commonwealth District win against visiting Mountain View on Thursday.

Kailyn Sonnenberg had 16 digs, Ashley Satterwhite doled out 18 assists and Colleen Beaver provided 11 kills for the Panthers (1–2, 1–2), who will take part in the Virginia Volleyball Showcase in Richmond today and Saturday.

BROOKE POINT 3, GAR–FIELD 0

Jasmine Jones had six kills, four aces and three blocks, and Desiree Rivera added strong serving and four kills to help homestanding Brooke Point get a 25–18, 25–15, 25–8 nondistrict win.

Desiree Claxton totaled three aces, three kills and three blocks. Lindsay Harrison collected nine digs and Stephanie Buccola chipped in four kills for the balanced Black–Hawks (4–0).

Brooke Point visits Colonial Forge on Tuesday.

COLONIAL FORGE 3, STAFFORD 0

Brooke Sanders had 16 assists and five aces to help visiting Colonial Forge get a 25–16, 25–16, 25–16 Commonwealth District win.

Hope Kelley added five kills and four digs, while Lauren Evans and Maddie Scovell totaled four kills each for the Eagles (3–0, 3–0), who take part in the Virginia Volleyball Showcase today and Saturday in Richmond.

India Kithcart had four kills, Alex Thompson five digs and Jessie Gatanis 10 assists to lead the Indians (2–2, 0–2), who visit Riverbend on Tuesday.

ALBEMARLE 3. NORTH STAFFORD 0

The Patriots swept their Commonwealth District rivals, 25–16, 25–9, 25–21, on the road.

The Wolverines were led by Christine Jackson with nine blocks and three kills and Abby Rosa, who recorded 11 blocks and two kills.

North Stafford (2–1, 3–1) hosts Massaponax in another district match on Tuesday.

RIVERBEND 3, ORANGE 0

Miranda Mitchell had 13 digs, eight kills, four aces and three assists, and Danielle Deiters added 24 assists, seven digs and six kills for Riverbend in a 25–22, 25–15, 25–22 Commonwealth District road win.

Other leaders for the Bears (3–1, 1–1) were: Brett Pettus with seven kills and four digs, Shadae Strother with five kills and two blocks, Becca Statler with 26 digs and two assists and Nicole Shannon with 10 digs.

Riverbend entertains Stafford on Tuesday.

JAMES MONORE 3, COLONIAL BEACH 2

James Monroe held off homestanding Colonial Beach to get a 13–25, 25–20, 25–13, 23–25 15–12 nondistrict win.

McKenzie Conway led the Drifters (0–3) with 16 points and added seven aces and three kills, and Rachael Allison supplied seven aces.

Colonial Beach visits JM on Tuesday.
