Recreation Notes: Spotsylvania’s Pfaff places second in disc golf championships

Spotsylvania County resident Austin Pfaff finished second in the Junior (16-under) Boys Division at last weekend’s Professional Disc Golf Association World Championships in Charlotte, N.C.
Pfaff, a Riverbend High School student, finished with a 29-under-par score of 400 for six preliminary rounds, plus semifinals and finals. He finished behind Justin Lammers of Lomira, Wisc. (40 under).
AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL
The Post 290 Stafford Nationals’ season ended with an 8–7 loss to Winchester Post 21 Wednesday in the District 16 American Legion baseball tournament in Leesburg.
Ryan Leak had two triples among his four hits for the Nationals (14–6). Ryan Jones added three hits, and Ben Keller and Kyle Mikula had two each. Keller scored twice.
