July 30: Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries’ public Meeting on Waterfowl Hunting Regulations. 7–9 p.m., 4010 West Broad Street, Richmond. Discussion of federal frameworks and potential hunting regulations for 2012–2013 waterfowl seasons (ducks, geese, swans, brant, coots, gallinules and moorhens).

Sept. 8: Deer Hunter Education. Caledon Natural Area Pavilion, King George County. 8 a.m. –4 p.m. Designed to teach safe, basic and advanced strategies for successful deer hunting. Mix of classroom and practical field instruction. Taught by certified Hunter Education Safety Instructors and DGIF personnel. HUNTER EDUCATION CLASSES
