2. DAMION CARROLL, KING GEORGE
Finished with an 8–0 pitching record and recorded 131 strikeouts. Also hit .420 with seven home runs and was the district, region and state player of the year. Led King George to the Group AA baseball state quarterfinals.Drafted in the MLB draft’s sixth round by the Tampa Bay Rays.
3. AUSTIN GREBE, NORTH STAFFORD
The Commonwealth District’s football offensive player of the year for his play at quarterback was also an outstanding kicker.He led the Wolverines to a state semifinal berth. He’ll kick next year for the Naval Academy’s football team. Grebe was a co-captain and on the all-district soccer team as a midfielder.
4. CHRIS HOLMES, CHANCELLOR
Averaged 15.5 points over 25 games in his junior season. The coaches’ pick for Battlefield District’s boys basketball player of the year was also an all-Region I first-team selection. A cornerback and wide receiver for the Chargers’ football team, Holmes has committed to play on scholarship for North Carolina State. Ran a relay leg for an all-state relay team this spring.
5. DaeSEAN HAMILTON, MOUNTAIN VIEW
Had 73 receptions for 1,144 yards and 10 touchdowns in his junior year. An all-district and All-Area first team pick during the football season. A standout for Mountain View’s boys basketball team. Hamilton figures to be one of the area’s top college recruits in the coming months. He already has 14 Division I scholarship offers, including several ACC schools.
