Prep Roundup: Regional soccer playoffs

Jacob Burke and Reynaldo Montecino had three goals each, and Kiko Solis also scored to lead Chancellor’s boys soccer team to a 7–1 win against Park View–South Hill on Tuesday in the Region I quarterfinals.

Montecino, Solis, Michael Young, Italo Chegne, Cameron Williams and Colin Urquhart all had assists for the Chargers.

Chancellor (11–7–1) will play at Tabb on Thursday in the region semifinals.

BOYS SOCCER

WASHINGTON & LEE 4, KING WILLIAM 1

Juan Ochoa had two goals and two assists to lead the Eagles past the Cavaliers in the quarterfinals of the Region A tournament.

Matt Trau and Luis Chipres also had goals for the Eagles. Carson Coats had a strong game on defense, and Jay Jims recorded five saves in goal.

Washington & Lee (15–0–1) will host Nandua today in the semifinals at 6 p.m.

GIRLS SOCCER

JAMESTOWN 5, CULPEPER 1

Visiting Culpeper’s Haley Whitham scored in the 14th minute to answer a goal by the hosts two minutes into the game, but the Eagles pulled away for a Region I quarterfinal win at James City County Stadium.

The Blue Devils finished the season with an 11–5–1 record.

TABB 2, CHANCELLOR 1 (OT)

Tabb scored early in the second half, before visiting Chancellor (12–5–2) answered with a goal by Tiffany Dubeck, assisted by Tyesha Kizer, to force overtime.

The Tigers then scored in the first of two overtime periods and escaped with a win in the Region I quarterfinals.
