High school roundup: Wolverines complete shutout win

In the completion of a suspended game, Kelsie Barker struck out 14 and added two hits to help visiting North Stafford get a 3–0 Commonwealth District softball win against Colonial Forge on Monday.

Emily Bradford had a double for Colonial Forge, which travels to Stafford today.

Beth Kelley smacked an RBI-double for the Wolverines (14–2, 12–0), who host Albemarle today.

The Eagles travel to Stafford today.

Kaitlin Saunders finished 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs to lead Essex to a Northern Neck District win.

Victoria Boone added a double for the Trojans (5–9, 4–1), who visit Lancaster on Thursday.

BOYS LACROSSE

MOUNTAIN VIEW 15,

STAFFORD 9

Cory Ohlin had five goals and three assists, Johnny Tellez added three goals and three assists, and Nick Gray supplied three goals and one helper in Mountain View’s Commonwealth District win.

Eric Kvenlog registered two goals and one assist, while Sean Rockx and Janson Doyle each tallied one for the Wildcats (8–3).

Mikey Rynders and Ryan Sompayrac each scored three goals, Alex Sypolt scored twice and Leathan Hopkins once for the Indians (2–9, 0–9). Sompayrac, Aaron Mays and Jacob Hooghouse each added assists.

On Wednesday, Mountain View hosts Brooke Point and Stafford visits North Stafford.

NORTH STAFFORD 18,

JAMES MONROE 1

Justin Taylor had five goals to lead the North Stafford offense in a Commonwealth District win.

Cody Baker added two goals for the Wolverines (8–4, 6–2), who host Stafford on Wednesday.

WOODBRIDGE 6,

MASSAPONAX 5

Jae Lister had two goals and Hunter Callan added a goal and two assists, but the Massaponax club team came up just short of a win.

Tyler Berry and Jeremiah Brennan also scored, while Wes Wiberg, David Kirn and Andy Hanson added assists.

Goalie Logan Fogarty made 14 saves for the Panthers.

GIRLS SOCCER

Imani Jones scored three goals in Fredericksburg Academy’s shutout victory. Mary Rose Hazel, Sydney Hawkins and Natalie Ducharme–Barth also scored for the Falcons (8–0–1).

Erika Boggs had two assists and Meghan Norair one for the Falcons, who visit Steward School on Wednesday.
