UMW: Eagles reach CAC final

The 24th-ranked University of Mary Washington men’s tennis team swept York College, 9–0, in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament semifinals Tuesday at the Battleground athletic complex.
The Eagles (14–12) will host either Salisbury University or St. Mary’s College Friday at 4 p.m. in the CAC championship.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Eleventh-ranked York College scored the first three goals of Tuesday’s CAC semifinal en route to a 9–6 victory over the 12-ranked Eagles in York, Pa.
Catherine Kennedy scored two goals and dished out an assist to pace UMW (13–4), which now must await a possible NCAA tournament at-large berth next month.
BASEBALL
Johns Hopkins used two three-run innings to defeat the Eagles, 8–4, in Baltimore, Md., Tuesday.
Jake Rudman had a single and double for the Mary Washington (11–19–1), which visits Newport News Apprentice School on Friday at 5 p.m.
