HORSE SCENE: Peters, Ravel earn world title

ONCE AGAIN, Steffen Peters and Ravel have won the championship title. This time it was at the World Dressage Masters at Palm Beach, for the second straight year.

They won the Grand Prix with the highest score (81.383) ever posted at a WDM Grand Prix. They were distantly followed by Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro (78.468) and Sweden’s Tinne Vilhelmson–Silfven on Favourit (73.255).

In the freestyle event, Peters and Ravel performed to music from Avatar and won with a score of 83.70. Dujardin and Valegro came in close behind (83.650), followed by Vilhelson–Silfven and Favourit (78.250).

At the finish of the Grand Prix Special classes, the Americans took home the top three titles. Adrienne Lyle on Wizard won with 73.244, followed by Heather Blitz on Paragon with 72.044 and Todd Flettrich on Otto in third with 69.933.
