U.S. soccer team will play Brazil at FedEx Field
The United States men’s national soccer team will play Brazil in a friendly at FedEx Field on May 30, the soccer federation and Washington Redskins management announced Thursday.
It will mark the first time the Americans have played a game at FedEx Field, which previously hosted Manchester United vs. Barcelona last year and D.C. United vs. Real Madrid in 2009.
Tickets will go on sale Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster outlets. Redskins suite and premium season ticket-holders will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets, while those with Redskins general admission tickets and those on the “wait list,” as well as D.C. United and Baltimore Blast season ticket-holders, will also be able to buy tickets in the presale.
The United States has defeated Brazil only once in 16 meetings, and with 2014 World Cup qualifying set to begin later this summer, each team should have a roster nearly full of its marquee players.
