UMW: McRae, Eagle women roll

Senior guard Jenna McRae scored 23 points to lead the 15th ranked University of Mary Washington women’s basketball team to an 81–41 win over visiting Lehman (N.Y.) College yesterday.
McRae went 9-for-16 from the floor, making all three of her 3-point attempts, and added five rebounds, four assists, and three steals with no turnovers. Sophomore guard Sarah Jones scored 12 points off the bench in 17 minutes, and senior guard Katie Wimmer added 11 points, six rebounds, six steals, and five assists.
Lehman was led by Paula Robinson’s 16 points.
The Eagles visit St. Mary’s (Md.) tomorrow at 1 p.m.
Earlier yesterday, UMW junior center Carol Dye was named Capital Athletic Confernce player of the week. She averaged 13 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Eagles handed Salisbury and York their first CAC losses.
