Elston wins all-around title

Colonial Forge’s Ashley Elston won the Red Division all-around title (37.65) and led the Eagles to the division team championship at Saturday’s Park View Invitational gymnastics meet at Sterling.
Elston placed first in bars (9.625), vault (9.5) and floor (9.65). and third on balance beam. Teammate Jessie Lupi was fifth in vault (8.8).
WRESTLING
BATTLEFIELD DUALS
Bryce Gentry was named Colonial Forge’s outstanding wrestler after leading the host Eagles to the team title at the Marine.com Battlefield Duals this weekend. Colonial Forge finished first out of 12 participating teams.
SWIMMING
Five Team Meet at FCS
Seth Andrews broke Fredericksburg Christian School’s 500-yard freestyle record and qualified for the state meet in the 500 free and 200 individual medley at Saturday’s meet.
The host Eagles finished 3–1 in the girls’ meet and 2–2 in the boys’ meet. nSaturday, January 7, 2012 at St. Michael’s pool. Freshman Courtney Jones qualified for states in the girls’ 200 free.
