ASHBURN – Brandon Meriweather was listed as questionable on the injury report as he recovers from a concussion.
Meriweather went through a full practice on Friday and will undergo concussion tests Saturday and pregame Sunday to determine whether he can face the Lions.
“I don’t know about Sunday, but I have been cleared to practice today, so I did what I can do today,” Meriweather said after Friday’s practice.
The strong safety left the game against the Packers in the second quarter after exhibiting concussion symptoms following a helmet-to-helmet hit on running back James Starks.
The Redskins also listed defensive ends Stephen Bowen and Kedric Golston, kicker Kai Forbath and receiver Leonard Hankerson as questionable on the injury report, while nose tackle Barry Cofield will be listed as probable.
Bowen sustained a minor knee injury in practice on Thursday, though he said he isn’t concerned about facing the Lions. Hankerson said he didn’t warm up properly on Friday and pulled his hamstring, but also expects to play.
Forbath, who was expected to kick for the first time Friday as he recovers from a pulled right groin, did not practice, according to Mike Shanahan. It’s possible John Potter could handle kickoffs against the Lions while Forbath is permitted to attempt field goals and extra points.
Lions running back Reggie Bush is considered questionable with a bruised left knee, though he did practice Friday, according to the team. Defensive tackle Nick Fairley (shoulder) is also questionable, while right tackle Jason Fox (groin) is doubtful and free safety Louis Delmas, defensive end Jason Jones and right guard Rob Sims are all probable despite knee injuries.
