Robert Griffin III’s recovery from right knee surgery will be the subject of a one-hour documentary special, “RGIII: The Will To Win,” which will air on ESPN on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.
The documentary, produced by NFL Films, will cover Griffin’s activities from the Redskins’ playoff loss to the Seahawks, in which he was injured, through the end of the preseason.
He was also given an executive producer credit on the documentary because he used a camera to film himself during the project.
“ESPN constantly looks for new and unique content to present to fans across our various platforms, and ‘RGIII: The Will to Win’ certainly fits that criteria,” Julie Sobieski, ESPN’s vice president of programming and acquisitions, said in a press release. “The film spotlights one of the NFL’s rising stars and most engaging personalities, while providing an inside look at Robert Griffin III’s offseason recovery from knee surgery, one of the biggest storylines entering the 2013 season.”
The documentary will also be aired on ESPN2 on Aug. 31 at 9 a.m. and on ABC at Aug. 31 at 2 p.m.
