Chris Baker Signs Restricted Free Agent Tender
The 6-foot-2, 333-pound nose tackle will enter his third season with the Redskins after agreeing to sign the team’s restricted free agent tender offer Wednesday, a week before the deadline.

Nose tackle Chris Baker signed his restricted free agent tender from the Redskins on Wednesday afternoon, ensuring he will return to the team on a one-year contract for $1.323 million.
Baker, 25, had 15 tackles last season and played in 14 games as a reserve. He’ll continue to serve as a backup to Barry Cofield, and he’ll compete with Chris Neild, Ron Brace and Chigbo Anunoby throughout training camp to return to that role.
Players have until April 19 to sign their tenders. Had Baker not signed it by that deadline, his rights would have been retained by the Redskins and no other team would have been able to offer a contract.
By signing Baker, the Redskins have brought back five of their six restricted free agents, with return specialist Brandon Banks the only one who did not receive a contract offer from the team.
