Kory Lichtensteiger, DeJon Gomes Each Active, Will Play Against Seahawks
LANDOVER, Md. – Kory Lichtensteiger, who sprained his left ankle in the third quarter of the Washington Redskins’ victory over Dallas a week ago, is active and will play Sunday afternoon against Seattle in the NFC wild card playoff game.
Lichtensteiger, the Redskins’ starter at left guard all season, did not practice at all during the week and was deemed a game-time decision. Josh LeRibeus, a third-round draft pick out of SMU, replaced Lichtensteiger for 21 plays against the Cowboys and practiced with the top offensive line all week.
DeJon Gomes is also active and will resume his place in a rotation at strong safety and on special teams. Gomes missed last week’s game against Dallas with a sprained left knee sustained Dec. 23 at Philadelphia.
Cedric Griffin will also make his return from a four-game suspension for a violation of league policy on performance-enhancing substances and resume his role as the third cornerback.
Quarterback Rex Grossman, receivers Brandon Banks and Dezmon Briscoe, offensive linemen Adam Gettis and Tom Compton and linebackers Roddrick Muckelroy and Vic So’oto are inactive.
