Packers Defeat Vikings; Either Redskins Or Seahawks Will Head To Atlanta
By virtue of the 24-10 victory by Green Bay in the NFC wild card round on Saturday, the winner of Sunday’s game between the Washington Redskins and Seattle will head to Atlanta in the NFC divisional round on Jan. 13.
That game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff and would be televised by Fox, the NFL announced Saturday night.
Washington lost 24-17 to Atlanta at home on Oct. 7 in a game where quarterback Robert Griffin III sustained a concussion and left in the third quarter. Seattle did not face Atlanta this season.
The Falcons (13-3) earned the top seed in the NFC playoffs and have home-field advantage throughout the postseason.
Because the Vikings lost on Saturday, the game against Seattle on Sunday will be the Redskins’ only playoff home game.
Green Bay will head to San Francisco in the other NFC divisional round game, which will take place Jan. 12.
