Alfred Morris Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Week After Dallas Victory
ASHBURN – Alfred Morris was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday after rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns in the Washington Redskins’ 28-18 victory over Dallas on Sunday.
Morris finished the regular season with 1,613 rushing yards, which is the most in franchise history. He also ran for 13 touchdowns, setting the single-season record for rushing touchdowns by a rookie.
It was Morris’ seventh time surpassing 100 rushing yards in a single game and it helped the Redskins set a team record with 2,709 rushing yards in a season.
Quarterback Robert Griffin III was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week following the Redskins’ season-opening victory at New Orleans.
Morris was also nominated earlier in the week for the Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week and FedEx Ground Player of the Week awards, which are determined through fan balloting.
