Cousins, replacing injured quarterback Robert Griffin III, completed 26 of 37 passes for 329 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the victory.
That performance also earned him the “GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week” award, which he now won for the second consecutive week after his performance late in the Redskins’ victory against Baltimore on Dec. 9.
Cousins is the third Redskins player, behind Griffin and running back Alfred Morris, to win the rookie of the week award this season. Griffin has won it six times, while Morris has won it twice.
Recipients of the weekly rookie of the year award qualify as nominees for the Pepsi Max Rookie of the Year Award, which is also determined through fan balloting online and will be announced the weekend of the Super Bowl.
