NFL Players’ Association Honors London Fletcher, Lorenzo Alexander

By ZAC BOYER | @ZacBoyer

ASHBURN – The NFL Players Association announced Thursday that London Fletcher and Lorenzo Alexander were the two Washington Redskins recipients of the PULSE Award, given annually to players in recognition of their charitable and community work.

Alexander’s “ACES Foundation” provides enrichment programs to children in Washington and in Oakland, Alexander’s hometown. Fletcher’s “London’s Bridge” foundation offers mentoring for underprivileged and underrepresented children in Washington, Charlotte, Buffalo and Cleveland.

Players nominate teammates for the award, which is accompanied a monetary donation by the NFLPA to the winners’ foundations or a charity of their choosing. Five players from the league are then selected to be finalists for the Byron “Whizzer” White Award, with the winner receiving $100,000 to their charity.
