Brandon Weeden Fondly Recalls Experience With Shanahans At Senior Bowl
ASHBURN – Brandon Weeden said the experience of working with Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. in January was “awesome.”
Weeden, the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback, played for the South team led by the Redskins’ coaching staff in the annual collegiate all-star game. He went 5-for-9 for 56 yards, throwing two touchdowns in the start.
Cleveland later selected Weeden, out of Oklahoma State, with the No. 22 pick in the NFL Draft in April.
The Browns (5-8) will host the Redskins (7-6) on Sunday.
“They were great all week,” Weeden said, speaking of the Redskins’ coaches. “They were helpful. Obviously, two guys that have been around quarterbacks and have developed good quarterbacks. It was a fun week for me getting to know those guys and being around those guys as much as possible. Two guys that I have a lot of respect for.”
