Alfred Morris, Kirk Cousins Nominated By NFL For Weekly Online Fan Awards
Alfred Morris was nominated for the Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week award on Tuesday after running for 122 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in the Washington Redskins’ 31-28 overtime victory over Baltimore on Sunday.
The award, determined through fan voting online at NFL.com, could be won by Morris for the second time this season. The running back also won the award after the Redskins’ Week 7 loss to the New York Giants.
Quarterback Robert Griffin III has won the award after each of the Redskins’ six victories this season. This is the first week Griffin has not been nominated for the award after Washington won.
Kirk Cousins, who entered the game when Griffin sprained his right knee in the fourth quarter, was nominated for the “GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week” honor by throwing a touchdown pass and running for the tying two-point conversion with 29 seconds left.
