Jammal Brown Officially Moved From PUP List To Injured Reserve
Jammal Brown was officially placed on injured reserve by the Washington Redskins on Tuesday, which was the deadline for the team to make a move after his transitional practice period ended and his time on the physically-unable-to-perform list expired.
Brown, 31, was attempting to recover after tearing a ligament in his left hip while running the day before training camp began in late July. He underwent surgery a month later to attempt to correct the problem and went through a limited practice on Nov. 12 and Nov. 14, but the irritation in the hip never subsided.
The right tackle has been limited by hip injuries for the past three seasons, including a torn labrum he sustained with New Orleans in 2009.
Because Brown was on the PUP list all season, the team will not need to replace him on the 53-man roster.
