Redskins Release Jonathan Goff, Sign Offensive Tackle Jordan Black

ASHBURN – The Washington Redskins signed offensive tackle Jordan Black and released linebacker Jonathan Goff late Monday.
The a 6-foot-5, 305-pound Black, 32, in his ninth season after being drafted in the third round out of Notre Dame by Kansas City in 2003. He spent one season with Houston, two with Jacksonville and went to training camp with New Orleans last year, but was cut when rosters were finalized before the season began.
Goff, a 6-foot-2, 247-pound linebacker, tore the ACL in his right knee on Saturday and will miss the season. He tore the same ACL a year ago when with the New York Giants and was expected to back up London Fletcher and Perry Riley at inside linebacker.
Black will serve as depth for the Redskins with Jammal Brown recovering from a sore right hip. Brown, the starting right tackle, is scheduled to undergo an MRI late Tuesday.
