Robert Griffin III Makes Appearance At Washington-Area Memorabilia Show
CHANTILLY – Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III made his first public appearance in the Washington area on Saturday, signing autographs and posing for pictures at a sports card and memorabilia show at the Dulles Expo Center.
The Washington Redskins are expected to select Griffin with the No. 2 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft, and the quarterback signed autographs for nearly two hours for fans eager to meet the team’s potential future quarterback. Organizers of the show had Griffin sign both Baylor and Redskins helmets and footballs to be sold at the event, and they charged attendees $100 to take a photo with the quarterback.
Representatives from CAA, Griffin’s agency, did not permit the normally engaging quarterback to speak to reporters at the event, a two-day festival that brought in sports stars from the past and present – including Redskins running backs Roy Helu and Evan Royster, fullback Darrel Young and linebackers Lorenzo Alexander and Rob Jackson.
