Redskins Sign Will Montgomery, Darrion Scott To New Contracts
The Washington Redskins announced Monday they have signed center Will Montgomery and defensive end Darrion Scott, each of whom was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next month, to new contracts.
Montgomery, 29, signed with the Redskins in 2008 and has spent the last three full seasons with the team, taking over as the starting center prior to this past season.
Scott, 30, spent the last two years with the Redskins. He was released on Nov. 8 and re-signed on Nov. 15, at which time he worked into the defensive line rotation and finished with four tackles.
Neither terms nor the lengths of the contacts were disclosed, though 106.7 The Fan reported last week Montgomery signed a four-year deal.
Teams can agree to new contracts with their impending free agents through March 8. Those who become free agents are eligible to negotiate contracts with teams beginning March 13.
